Accept Moderation
When responding to a moderation, users have the option to either dispute or accept it. The Accept Moderation option is the default option when looking through the Moderation History.
Accepted moderations cannot be further disputed, and when the feature was first created there was no other benefit granted beyond this. Users also had the option to write comments to the Moderator when accepted their moderation. However, Moderators could not see these comments unless they searched for the moderations again, which almost never happened, rendering the Accept Moderation and comment function to be misleading and essentially pointless. Furthermore, some users accidentally accepted moderations instead of contesting them due to it being the default option.
In August 2005, CJayC changed the contest system. Part of the change was to provide an actual incentive for users to accept moderations rather than disputing them. Accepted moderations are removed from the users moderation history quicker than if the moderation had been disputed.
In March 2008, SBAllen changed the dispute system again allowing users to accept a moderation at any level of the dispute process. However there is no benefit to accepting a moderation after disputing other than to end the dispute process without going up to the next level.
