Origin and KoS Status

Gavirulax's original user name was Novation, and the first message board he posted on was the FFX board. He was deemed a troll, and his account was banned for numerous ToS violations within three weeks. He then created a few other accounts (Blaster Weapon, Kargathalan, Terra Novation, and numerous other variations of Novation) and continued to troll the board. He was quickly placed on the KOS List after his number of banned accounts rose quickly through the double digits.

Returning in 2004, Gavirulax (as Novation) created numerous new accounts (more variations of Novation, Kathkertalan and Gavirulax itself) and posted on the FFX board for few months (becoming a member of the community in this time) before he created an account on GameSpot to avoid flood limits. With his GameSpot account, he flooded the board with over 100 suicide topics and was promptly suspended and axed upon being reported on Message Board Help. After this, he created many variations of the Gavirulax name. Using an exploit involving the moderation queue, Gavirulax found a way to keep his TOS-breaking posts from being moderated (meaning they wouldn't show up in the queue if marked). He was soon warned by Sashanan for trolling on MBH and almost immediately mass-flooded the FFX board again. This earned him his second KoS.

In an attempt to learn what a KOS was, Gavirulax made quick enemies of many MBH posters, including bansama, BlitzBoy, krull, and Sashanan. He created several imp accounts and was soon asked how he was creating them so rapidly. Using another exploit involving previewed posts, Gavirulax managed to post 2 messages with the banned "Gavirulax" account which was apparently immune to moderations until an admin intervened. CJayC contacted Gavirulax via AIM, asking him to stop or face possible legal trouble. Gavirulax used his notorious "Auronathon" AIM account to harass various users, and through a usermap exploit, managed to ban some of them. He then flooded MBH with over 100 accounts in a single day and was again contacted by CJayC, who threatened legal action.

Morbozon

Using a high-security proxy, Gavirulax created his infamous Morbozon account, which he used to join the ranks of the MBHers. Through this account, he appeared to be opposing the antics of "Gavirulax," becoming completely elitist to Gavirulax's actions. As the account became more well-known, it was invited to a few private boards. Gavirulax also managed to sign up as the 2,000,000th user as the account Morbozun.

As the Gavirulax persona, Gavirulax found an exploit involving the Generated Messages board, where he was able create a blank topic on the board with any account on GameFAQs. Several users were initially given them, and one user made a topic regarding it on MBH. A good portion of the users in this topic were given Generated Messages, with 4 users receiving over 800 each (which made it impossible for them to post because the system thought they were posting the messages and wouldn't allow more than 2 per minute). It was at this time that Gavirulax let it be known that he could read both KGB and 811 (through the Morbozon account, though this was unknown to the staff). Believing that Gavirulax's spy was crimsonassassin, Math Murderer had the recently-demoted moderator removed from his private board.

Gavirulax then took advantage of another exploit and began tricking people into activating accounts for him. CJayC responded by editing the welcome page so that it asked visitors to make absolutely certain the account is theirs before activating (while in the past it did not). A side-effect was that accounts level 6 and under could no longer view full profiles. Another change came when all users except moderators and administrators could no longer see the full (signature, quote, etc.) profile of any account below level 6.

Gavirulax began flooding some older topics on the site, some of which he successfully purged but others which were saved by CJayC when he literally deleted Gavirulax's names from the database and reset the post count back to what it was before the flood. He also flooded 3 "Ask a Mod" topics on MBH, all of which were closed. In addition to this, Gavirulax tricked several users into giving up their accounts to him via email and IM services. CJayC responded with a Message Board Announcement saying that GameFAQs will never ask for such info over any service. Gavirulax also contacted a user by the name of BASHERS33 who had been coincidentally posting at MBH at the same time as one of Gavirulax's attacks, and after BASHERS33 was banned, continued to make accounts for him, until BASHERS33 himself was also KoSed.

Creating a new account named "Judgement Day" on the same proxy as Morbozon, Gavirulax began a flame war on the ANZ Board. Stepping in with his Morbozon account, he proclaimed that Judgement Day would be warned, and it indeed happened (this was rather similar to the Gavirulax/Morbozon persona, only the board was lead to believe Morbozon had friends with influences). Returning with his Judgement Day account after the warning occurred, Gavirulax repeated his two-step process, and ANZ eventually figured out that Judgement Day and Morbozon were one and the same. Abusing a current moderation cleanup that was going on behind the scenes, Gavirulax managed to close, delete, or warn any topic about the connection between Judgement Day and Morbozon. ANZ then took this to MBH, but nobody on the board believed them when they stated that Morbozon initiated the conflict. The MBH topic was subsequently locked. Sashanan then made a topic on ANZ wanting to end the fued, where Morbozon had lied about his hotmail account being hacked as the main reason behind it (later "Morbozon" pretended to find out that Gavirulax hacked the account, and not an ANZer, when in reality, it was never hacked).

Using the Gavirulax persona, Gavirulax, shoooter, and Steaver370 began flooding the GTA:SA board with offensive topics. Gavirulax found an exploit which images (and scripts through vbscript) in GameSpot profiles could be viewed from GameFAQs. After this, GameSpot introduced IP bans and a review process almost identical to the one that is in place on GameFAQs.

Soon after the Judgement Day incident, Gavirulax took advantage of another exploit to use against the ANZ users. He began double-marking (something which is usually detected, but wasn't with this exploit), and thus had users he didn't like deleted rapidly. CJayC, however, realized what was going on in this case and contacted Morbozon's GameSpot account via a Private Message, asking him to stop. Gavirulax had also reported this as an exploit through the feedback system as Morbozon, but CJayC said Morbozon's reward for reporting it was "not getting banned" since he also abused it. After this, Gavirulax realized his Morbozon account would have no chance at becoming a moderator, so he created a topic on Data Analysis proclaiming that he was Gavirulax, and mdholland alerted MBH to the situation. Initial reactions were that the account had been hacked, but after no word came from the supposedly "real" Morbozon, people began to accept the change.

Cease and Desist - Present

A month after the Morbozon incident, TheEmulatorGuy was searching through a number of test pages belonging to CNET which Gavirulax had found (and had been using for quite some time to create accounts without needing to activate them via email). In these, TheEmulatorGuy discovered a page that would scramble an account's password beyond use or retrieval. He passed this page on to RockMFR 5 who then gave the link to Gavirulax. Gavirulax sent the link to numerous people via AIM, ultimately shutting them out of their accounts and creating a lot of work for the administrators. Shortly after this stunt, Gavirulax recieved a Cease and Desist order from CNET and was told that if he ever acted out again, they would sue.

Since that time, Gavirulax has returned to GameFAQs (after asking CJayC in an AIM conversation several months after the C&D). Although under Name KoS at the time, his Name KoS was lifted in 2007. Gavirulax has since stated that the entire Gavirulax persona was an act, and he's really nothing like his online alias.

In 2008, Gavi again gained notice for being one of the key users behind the Endless Doom series of account jackings. Besides actually entering the stolen accounts along with TRC, he also created a script to quickly find users who had used their passwords on multiple sites. Since that time, however, Gavi settled down again, mostly posting on KGB and occasionally Hellhole.

His current main username on GameFAQs is Molamelerieth.
