The Ignore List Tracker at work
The Ignore List Tracker at work.

The Ignore User System is a feature allowing any user level 31 and above to mark a user to be ignored via Message Detail, much in the same way you would mark a user for moderation. This will effectively cause any future posts or topics by that user to be near completely ignored by the person who marked them. The only sign that an ignored user has posted in a topic you are currently viewing comes in the form of a message at the bottom of the page, the Ignore List Tracker, informing you both that an ignored user has posted on the page and how many posts that user has made.

For tracking purposes or if you wish to remove a user from user ignore, an ignore list can be found in your profile. It is impossible to ignore yourself or either a moderator or administrator. The maximum number of users that can be ignored on an account is set at 50.

Ignore System Trivia

  • This feature was introduced to the public on October 8th, 2007, but users level 37 and above were invited to test it out beforehand.
  • Early on, users were able to ignore themselves through URL manipulation. This was quickly fixed.
  • The only time you'll be able to see an ignored user's topic is if it's a stickied topic. However, you will not be able to view the user's posts in the topic.
